The impact of this feature request is that you lost out on a potential customer because the feature wasn't implemented or documented.
Retail stores that could migrate from Shopify POS to Oliver POS maintain two obstacles:
  1. Oliver POS Hardware Support for the store's existing hardware (i.e Shopify POS Hardware).
  2. Potential loss of features from Shopify POS.
This feature request is based on a test for obstacle #1: The following test was performed using information from the knowledge base and was reviewed by the Oliver POS support team.
  1. Add barcode of product to the WooCommerce product inventory management system.
  2. Open OliverPOS on iPad (MacOS) using Chrome browser application with OliverPOS hub.
  3. Pick up Shopify scanner (https://www.shopify.com/pos/store/products/1d-barcode-scanner-1) and then scan the barcode.
This test failed to scan the item to the register.
So while there might be additional steps to the test above, it isn't documented.
This feature request could accompany a video that shows how to set up the barcode scanner for OliverPOS similarly to Shopify's: https://youtu.be/mLvlLhnop08
